Online Programs

teach-away-08Education is changing rapidly. It is becoming more personalized, more connected, more collaborative, and more innovative. BIW Consultants has been on the edge of this movement, pushing the boundaries of what is possible, while respecting a tradition of true excellence and success. With this in mind, we have collaborated with BridgeTEFL™ to offer online TEFL courses to students around the world looking for affordability and flexibility. BridgeTEFL™ is the teacher training division of Bridge and the largest provider of TEFL/TESOL courses in the United States. Every year, BridgeTEFL™ prepares over 4,000 students to teach English as a second language at home and overseas.

Participants of this program are intended to be educators who have distinguished themselves in classroom teaching and learning or graduates who are interested in entering the TEFL industry. Advantages for students include flexibility; affordability; accessibility to the most “cutting-edge” educators and to other TEFL professionals internationally.

Online TEFL Certificate Qualification
This program is comprised of three parts: (i) Cross Cultural workshop; (ii) online BridgeTEFL course; (iii) Teacher’s practicum. This certificate program combines blended and online components:

  • Cross Cultural Workshop: The Cross Cultural workshop provides a learning opportunity for students to learn about other cultures of the world. This workshop is designed to promote positive interaction between students and other nationalities living in Jamaica and to facilitate future intercultural interactions that will occur in the teachers’ daily lives, and most likely, in their future careers.
  • Online BridgeTEFL Course: Participants will also participate in an asynchronous online TEFL course. Participants can choose to complete the course at their own pace. To register for the online BridgeTEFL course click here.
  • Teacher’s Practicum: Participants will also have an additional practicum to do.  The practicum will focus on current research and educational trends in TEFL. To receive the certificate, teachers must also complete a “capstone project.” Capstone projects will: be reflective of material covered in the program; demonstrate the ability to implement lessons learned from the program into the curriculum of the teacher; and participants will be asked to present their capstone projects at the final assessment of the teacher’s practicum conference.

To be fully registered you must pay registration fee $3,500 and submit the application form along with one passport size picture and copies of qualifications.
